SBE’s 6th International Conference on Bioengineering and Nanotechnology
(ICBN) will be held in June 24-27, 2012 at the University of California at Berkeley. The conference will be co-chaired by Luke Lee (University of California, Berkeley) and Matthew Tirrell (University of Chicago) and co-organized by the Nanoscale Science and Engineering Forum.

The meeting, titled "Bionanoscience and Bioengineering for Translational Medicine" will foster greater knowledge exchange and collaboration in the areas of bioengineering and nanotechnology - two interdisciplinary fields that cut across and integrate different areas in science, engineering, and medicine to create breakthroughs in biomedical research.

Sessions will include topics including:

  • Biological devices/Biosensors and Molecular Diagnostics
  • Cell and Tissue Engineering
  • Drug, Protein and Gene Delivery Systems
  • Nanoparticles, Nanocomposites and Nanoporous Materials for Bio-Applications
  • Synthetic Biology
